Communicating Our Curriculum to Parents
Every term, class teachers send home a letter detailing what topics will be covered in all areas of the curriculum.
Every week, parents receive information, photos and updates about their child's work on 'Seesaw'. This is an online learning journal used by the whole school. Parents can see and comment on work and it is a great way to share the continuous provision taking place in school.
KS1 Phonics and Reading
When children first start school, we use Jolly Phonics to introduce the Government’s Letters and Sounds phonics curriculum. This document is then used to plan the teaching of phonics and reading throughout the school. We have a vast range of reading materials including Storyworlds, Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star and Bug Club Readers.
‘The curriculum is outstanding because it provides pupils with many memorable learning experiences’ (Ofsted 2012)
'Pupils receive a good education at this school. They are rightly proud of their school and enjoy the exciting curriculum, grounds and extra curricular opportunities on offer.' (Ofsted 2016)
