Year 4 is taught by Mrs Parry and Mr Hopkins. The class is supported every day by Mrs Sanderson.
Our first topic of the Year was Marvellous Mountains. We located the main mountain ranges of the world and the highest peaks in Great Britain. The children carried out research on Snowdonia National Park and created their own travel brochures. After half term, our topic was Window on our World. We used the wordless book Window and discussed the changes that are occurring in the environment around our school. We looked at sustainability and the children wrote some powerful speeches about climate change.
Over the spring term Year 4 work incredibly hard at home. They thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Vikings. Our class text was Odd and the Frost Giants and the children wrote some wonderful Norse Myths. It was wonderful to welcome the children back into class during the second half of the Spring Term where we were able to carry on our learning about Wolves in person. We enjoyed our class novel The Eye of the Wolf and wrote some fantastic reports about wolves.
