21st November 2025
This week, Year 2 have been exploring important ways to stay safe online. They learned that not everything we see on the internet can be trusted and discussed how to make sensible choices when using technology. A key focus was Alveston's golden rule: always check and speak to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right.
The children watched CEOP videos to help them understand safer online behaviour and then worked in groups to create and perform their own role-play scenarios. They really enjoyed acting out different situations and showed great awareness of how to stay safe online.
In PE, Year 2 have been learning all about team-building games. Their focus was on working together to complete a shared task. In groups, the children took part in a variety of activities using hoops — including a challenge where they had to cross the “sea” without stepping outside the three hoops! Each team listened carefully to their team leader’s instructions and collaborated brilliantly to complete their mission. They showed excellent teamwork, communication, and made sure everyone was included.

If you have any of these items that are no longer being used, we would greatly appreciate your donations. Your generosity will help ensure that all students have the equipment they need to fully participate in sports and stay active. Please drop off donations at the school office.
Thank you for your support! And thank you to all parents who have already donated to us - your pre-loved items have already been used in our afterschool clubs and sports fixtures. These donations make a huge difference to the children's experience and enjoyment of sport at school.
Along with the raffle tickets sent home in book bags this week, you will find a letter explaining the prizes available and the deadline for returning sold raffle tickets. Please post these into the FOA post box outside the school office, or pass them to a committee member.
The raffle will be drawn on 12th December — be in it to win it! Don’t miss out on these fabulous prizes!
Thanks,
FOA
If you have a child that is due to start in Reception or move to a Junior School in September 2026, then you can now apply for their school place.
All applications received by the deadline of 15 January 2026 will receive a school offer on 16 April next year, which is National Offer Day. Any applications submitted after the 15 January deadline will only be considered after this, meaning the child is much less likely to be offered a place at a preferred school.
Applications can be made online at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/primaryplace, where you can also find useful information about priority school areas and admissions criteria.
