Alveston Church of England Primary School celebrated the official opening of their new outdoor space on Wednesday, April 10th, with a special service held at 10.00 am.
The ceremony welcomed families, benefactors, and Rev. April Gold, Diocesan Director of Education, who kindly opened and blessed the new space.
We are thrilled to unveil this beautiful new addition to our school grounds. This project not only enhances our outdoor environment but also provides a much-needed quiet space for our children to reflect, contemplate, and pray. It’s a wonderful testament to the power of community support.
The new outdoor environment, funded through grants and generous donations, boasts a variety of activities for children around the main playground. A key feature is a dedicated reflective space, designed to offer a haven for quiet reflection and prayer. During the opening service, children placed pebbles in wooden planters surrounding the space, symbolising the love and support of those who care for them.
We were absolutely delighted that Rev. April Gold was able to join us for the service. As always the children sang beautifully, finishing with one of their favourites 'Thank You.'

The Tesco Connection
Our vision for the outdoor space wouldn't have been realised without the incredible support of the local community. Our efforts continue! Alveston C of E Primary School is currently a contender for Tesco's "Stronger Starts Community Grants" program. From April to June 2024, customers at the Tesco Stratford Upon Avon Superstore (Birmingham Road, CV37 0UA), amongst others, can cast their vote for the school by placing a token in the designated charity box.
Every token truly counts. We hope everyone who shops at Tesco Stratford Upon Avon and help us secure these additional funds to further enhance our children’s outdoor learning experience.
