Watching the children unfurl with some of the additional freedom the trip brings, was a delight. It really was an absolute pleasure to take the children to Abernant. Watching everyone try new sports and activities, succeed and surpass their own expectations, exhibit sheer joy for so many different reasons and to get to know their characters (and humour) a little more, has been wonderful.
Those children who decided to stay in school have also been trying new things and demonstrating their growing independence. The children chose a country that they would like to know more about. They researched many areas of interest including cost of living, famous landmarks and national artwork and compiled their own presentations. In addition, they were super star helpers around the school, supporting our younger children with their learning.
As all our Year 6 children entered their final week of their seven years at primary school, I know they are completely ready for their next step in education.
