Governance Structure

Here at Alveston we have a dedicated team of Governors working alongside and supporting the teaching staff. The Governors  are responsible for overseeing the strategic elements of the school: strategy, policy, budgeting and staffing. Their role is to support and challenge in equal measure, working alongside senior leaders and supporting teachers to provide excellent education to our children and ensuring the school is run as effectively as possible.

We operate a 'Circular Model'. This is a  whole Governing Body approach, where the Full Governing Body works as a 'whole team'. Meeting 6 times per year, once each half term, the Governors all review Performance and Standards and Resources elements together.

There are currently eleven Governors at Alveston, each with their own area of responsibility. See the Governance Structure below for more information.
