News

13th January 2023

We have had such an enjoyable first full week back as all classes are really getting into the swing of their new topics. As teachers we love the spring term as we truly see the children flourish as lots of knowledge and skills come together and the children themselves can really see the fruits of their labour in their work.

There has been a lovely 'hub-bub' around school this week as even more things are getting back to normal. Bayleaf Cookery returned for the first time since before the pandemic and they performed a live cook off in our assembly on Tuesday (the most exciting cheesecake make I have ever seen) and we welcomed more families who looked around the school for Reception 2023 on Wednesday.

We are really looking forward to welcoming many of you into school again next Tuesday for our second Learning Together Time of the year, please do ensure you have a read through the Event Sheet that was sent out earlier this week with all the details.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Let's Build a Den!

Bad weather was not going to stop Reception's Forest School visit this week! The children put on their polar-weather kit and set off on an adventure to the hall where they worked in teams to build incredible dens. The children used great vocabulary as they shared ideas and saw their visions come to life.

Well done, Reception!

Bonjour! French Club bookings for Summer Term are now open.  Please click here for French Club information and how to book.

Parking at Drop Off and Pick Up
We are so lucky at Alveston that the Football Club allow all our parents who drive to school to use their car park for drop off and pick up. This makes it safer for all our children. Please continue to use the Football Club car park. Please do not park on Knights Lane or Oak Road for pick up or drops offs. Please also ensure that you do not stop or park within the zig-zag "Keep Clear" markings. This area is marked to keep the flow of traffic resuming and to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.

The car park is safer for pedestrians as well as families loading and unloading into cars. Parents have reported an increase in cars parked on Oak Road and many cars have parked on double yellow lines. Please be considerate to the safety of all. Thank you.
