Act on Energy is local and has been a registered charity for over 28 years. We offer advice and guidance on all things energy, along with delivering local government grants towards rising energy costs. We work closely with the Stratford District Council and Warwickshire County Council to deliver the funding they are awarded from government, to be used towards current energy costs. The current grant available is called the Stratford Energy Saving Fund which grants families who qualify a £500 payment direct to their energy account.
The criteria are very simple; applicants have a household income of £31,000 or less and no savings. They also need to have a vulnerability such as long-term treated health issues, in receipt of PIP or DLA or have unmanageable debts or children under 5 years of age. With the forecast for a July price cap rise of about 17 % looming, I want to be able to help parents prepare and check their energy tariffs or apply for the grant before this happens.
