Educaterers Ltd response to media coverage concerning food price rises and food quality

Our Community

Dear Client

In the last couple of days there has been a lot of coverage in the press following a report published by LACA - The School Food People, stating that due to rising food prices some school caterers have, or will, switch to cheaper imported meats and change other menu items to reduce costs.

I am writing to reassure you that Educaterers will not be going down this route. We are as committed as ever to supporting British farmers by serving British meat and do not plan to make any changes to our menus, ingredient quality, recipes or portion sizes, so things will remain as they always have - delicious, nutritious food for all.

We have had to make a small number of short term changes due to supply chain issues but in most cases these are on a like for like basis, for example, a switch from British Red Tractor chicken fillets to British Red Tractor turkey fillet due not to price increases but a lack of British chicken due to Avian flu. I'm pleased to report that our young diners tucked into the delicious turkey just the same with no complaints.

We are excited to launch our new menu in September which you should have received a copy of by now and which has been created with our consistent focus on quality and nutrition.

Thank you as always for your continuing support

Kind regards
Caroline Alexander
