Year 6 - Heart Dissection

12th November 2020

To further enrich the science curriculum and to provide that 'WOW!' moment, Year 6 dissected pigs’ hearts in their lesson.
The class were able to see all the features of the heart in real life and really enjoyed the experience.
Year 6 invited me, Mrs Clewley, to join them. It was wonderful to see all the children engaged in the exploration of the hearts, finding the features within and marvelling at the experience. As one child discussed with me: 'It is so strange to believe this is real, this is what I have inside!'
Huge thanks goes to Barry the Butcher who provided us with the hearts free of charge.
